All 1980-1991 G&L instruments equipped with either the Dual Fulcrum (DF) or the Leo Fender Fine Tuner Vibrato (LFV) utilized a one-piece stamped steel vibrato access cavity plate.  These plates were cleverly designed with strategically located slots to facilitate string changing and spring tension adjustments without plate removal.

There were two basic stampings.  The first can be found on all 1980 through 1982 G&L’s and has smaller oval string slots.  The later plate started to appear in 1983 and was used through the early 90’s and is identical to the early plate except for having elongated string hole slots.  The early version of the plate was always chrome plated in 1980 and 1981 but by 1982 could have either a matte black or wrinkle black finish.  The late version of this plate was only available in wrinkle black.  Special order instruments with gold plating would typically have a gold plated vibrato access plate though this was an extremely rare option.

We at ESI have faithfully reproduced these nearly impossible to locate specialty parts.  They are not only 100% dimensionally identical to the original parts but also are fabricated from the exact same steel alloy and thickness as well.  They are available in bare steel, matte black, wrinkle black, chrome or gold plated and we offer them with or without countersunk mounting holes.  We also offer either 82° or 100° degree countersink options for the six mounting holes.
